Maj. Brandon Michael Ulasiewicz retired from the U. S. Army on June 1 after a notable 21-year career marked by multiple overseas deployments, including Operation Enduring Freedom. He received numerous awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Ulasiewicz reflected on the highs and lows of military life, expressing gratitude to his family, friends, and fellow service members for their unwavering support. He specifically acknowledged his wife, Jen, for her sacrifices and the challenges military spouses face. Ulasiewicz's military journey began in 2004, inspired by the events of September 11, 2001, and a desire for job security in a struggling job market. He served in various leadership roles at Fort Carson, Fort Drum, and Shaw Air Force Base. His deployments included two tours in Afghanistan and two in Kuwait, where he held significant positions at Forward Operating Bases.

Ulasiewicz now resides in O'Fallon, Missouri, with his adult children, Amelia and Patrick, who grew up as proud military children.
