Toronto, OHLocal News

Trinity Health System's St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital commenced operations on August 20, 2025, with a focus on providing critical healthcare services in Belmont County. The facility includes 10 emergency room beds and six inpatient beds, functioning 24/7 to meet community needs. Director of Operations Jamie Betts noted that staff underwent extensive training, including handling mock patients, to ensure all systems were ready for real emergencies. While the operating room is set to open in a month, the hospital has already started admitting patients.

Mayor Kathryn Thalman expressed her enthusiasm for the new hospital, highlighting the efforts of city employees in bringing it to fruition. The facility is anticipated to handle more than the initially projected 40 to 50 emergency room visits per day due to the closure of East Ohio Regional Hospital. With approximately 60 staff members, including 24/7 physician availability, the hospital aims to effectively serve the local population. This development marks a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure amidst a recent healthcare gap in the region.
