Toronto, OHLocal News

Brooke County Commissioners are searching for a new director for the 911 Center following Christina White's retirement announcement after nearly six years. White, who has worked for the county for 23 years, credited her career to the late Bernie Kazienko and highlighted the rewarding yet challenging nature of emergency response work. Commission President A. J. Thomas thanked White for her contributions, particularly in technological upgrades and improving radio communications.

White noted the difficulty in finding qualified candidates for emergency response roles, urging interested individuals to consider applying. The commissioners also approved the hiring of Danielle Nicole Feist as a dispatcher, effective September 1. Additionally, they addressed a budget transfer for EMA and ambulance services and tabled a contract cancellation with Cintas Corps. Sheriff Rich Beatty withdrew a proposal for a raise for an administrative assistant at the employee's request due to staff conflicts. The meeting also included updates from local 4-H programs and the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
