Saddle Club presents scholarships
The Steubenville Saddle Club awarded its first scholarships during the July 27 horse show, with each valued at $500 and presented in memory of Jack Carroll, a long-time member. Recipients Lindsey Best and Savannah Springer were selected based on their academic performance, community service, and essays detailing their future aspirations. The scholarships support students enrolling in college or trade school for the 2025-26 academic year. The presentation took place at the club's grounds in Richmond, attended by club members and supporters. Club President Zach Murray and Vice President John Carroll, Jack Carroll's son, presented the awards, marking a significant milestone for the organization.
The Steubenville Saddle Club is dedicated to promoting horsemanship, sportsmanship, and youth development in the Ohio Valley. As part of its mission, the club plans to maintain its scholarship program in future years. Additionally, the club will host its final show of the 2025 season on September 7 at 9 a. m.
