Summer Block Party set for Aug. 8

The Sycamore Youth Center and Aim Women’s Center will co-host their annual Summer Block Party on August 8 from 4 p. m. to 6 p. m. at the corner of North and Fifth streets in Steubenville.

The free event will feature a cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, and cold drinks, alongside family-friendly activities like inflatables and games. Performers include Lynzee Ensell, a winner from the Valley’s Got Talent competition, and hip-hop artists J. R. Lawrence Lewis and Jeff Tyler, who will deliver inspirational music. Bobbyjon Bauman highlighted the event's objective to create a safe, fun environment for families.

The Milton Hershey School has generously donated food for the cookout and will provide information about student opportunities. Rebekah Cohen Morris from the Aim Women’s Center expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing community support and unity. The block party not only aims to bring joy but also to provide practical resources for families in the Ohio Valley. Organizers expect the event to be a summer highlight, with food and activities available while supplies last.

Executive Director Rebekah Cohen Morris emphasized that this funding will amplify their efforts to assist women in crisis pregnancies.
