Three facing drug charges after local raid

Three individuals were arrested by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force in Steubenville for drug possession following coordinated raids. George Lewis Boyd Jr. , 50, and George Lewis Boyd III, 19, face two felony counts each for possessing drugs, while Tayonna Wade, 28, faces additional charges for conveying drugs into a detention facility. During the operation, authorities seized 100 grams of cocaine, 80 stamp bags of fentanyl, and $1,200 in cash from two locations. The suspects have been arraigned in Steubenville Municipal Court and are awaiting their preliminary hearings.

This operation involved collaboration among multiple local law enforcement agencies, including the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Steubenville Police Department. Drug Task Force Commander Capt. Chris Vinci emphasized the importance of these efforts in addressing drug-related crimes in the community. The arrests come amid growing concerns about the opioid crisis and its impact on local neighborhoods. Authorities continue to target drug trafficking operations to enhance public safety.
