City Place in north Houston has partnered with Young Audiences of Houston to launch free weekly arts activities for children, starting in July. This collaboration aims to make art and culture more accessible to families, enhancing community engagement in the area. Mary Curry Mettenbrink, CEO of Young Audiences, highlighted the partnership's goal to inspire creativity and build community connections. The programming will include diverse activities such as dance, watercolor painting, and martial arts, all hosted on City Place's waterfront Plaza. Young Audiences of Houston, founded in 1956, reaches over 250,000 children each year, promoting academic achievement and emotional development through arts education.

City Place has also committed to the arts by collaborating with the Weingarten Art Group to introduce temporary art installations and plans for permanent public pieces. The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on arts accessibility in Houston's suburban communities. This partnership represents a significant step forward in creating a vibrant cultural environment for families in the region.
