Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber and Lone Star College-Montgomery collaborate for Conexin initiative

The Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber (MCHC) and Lone Star College-Montgomery (LSC-Montgomery) have formed a partnership through the Conexión initiative, designed to connect students with mentorship, internships, and professional development opportunities. This collaboration, formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to strengthen the relationship between students and local professionals. MCHC President Miguel Lopez noted that the initiative will facilitate growth for both students and the local economy. Dr. Juan Lebron, Interim VP of Student Success at LSC-Montgomery, expressed excitement about the partnership's potential to expand student opportunities.

Student Geoffrey ‘Geo’ Kearny will lead the initiative, emphasizing student engagement. MCHC Chair Chris Hoffman reinforced the belief that investing in young talent benefits the entire community. The MCHC, established in 2003, focuses on advancing the success of the Hispanic community. This initiative marks a significant step towards bridging the gap between education and local business development.
