Conroe-based FluxWorks awarded six-figure grant from Texas Space Commission
FluxWorks, a Conroe-based company specializing in magnetic gear technology, has secured a grant of up to $347,196 from the Texas Space Commission to further develop its innovations. This grant is part of a $20. 7 million funding initiative aimed at promoting advancements in space operations and commercial aerospace. Founder Bryton Praslicka highlighted the importance of the funding, which will facilitate the flight qualification of their technology, initially developed through a NASA-funded project. Praslicka expressed excitement about the opportunity to test their technology on the International Space Station, which is crucial for future space missions.
The company employs eight full-time workers and four contractors, and its headquarters in Conroe was strategically chosen for its industrial experience. Praslicka noted the thrill of being recognized alongside industry leaders like Axiom and Blue Origin, which adds credibility to their work. The Texas Space Commission, established in 2023, aims to integrate commercial aerospace opportunities into the Texas economy. With this grant, FluxWorks is poised to make significant strides in the aerospace sector, potentially launching their technology into space next year.
