The Woodlands earned the prestigious Communicator Award for its 50th Anniversary Celebration in the Campaign-Collaboration category. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in communication as assessed by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. The yearlong celebration culminated in festivities from October 14-19, 2024, marking the community's official anniversary and honoring its rich history and legacy. Events included a free community concert and stunning fireworks displays, emphasizing the community's spirit of engagement and cultural significance. Jim Carman, President of Howard Hughes, praised the collaboration that made the celebration a success, reflecting the dedication of many stakeholders.

Earlier in 2025, the celebration also received the Communitas Award for excellence in community service and partnership. Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. sponsored the event, alongside The Woodlands Township as the Producer sponsor. This recognition sets a positive precedent for future community initiatives aimed at enhancing quality of life.
