Riley Rayome from The Woodlands secured her third consecutive Texas High School State Wrestling Championship, capping her high school career with a stellar record of 215-5. Rayome's last defeat occurred in December 2020, and she expressed feelings of weightlessness and relief after her latest victory. Katy's Emily Beltran also shone by completing a perfect season, winning gold in the 107lb weight class. The Woodlands College Park showcased more talent, with Anna Vogt defeating Haley Pitts for gold in the 132lb division and sophomore Landri Von Gonten winning her second consecutive championship. On the boys' side, Logan Milsaps triumphed in the 150lb weight class, while Clear Creek's Jared Remington finished second in the 157lb category.

Notably, Langham Creek junior Saul Gutierrez, who has only been wrestling for three months, placed fifth at state. The championships highlighted the dedication and toughness required in high school wrestling, with local athletes representing Houston with pride. This event underscores the growing prominence of wrestling in Texas high schools.
