A tree trimmer died from electrical shock on Tuesday afternoon near FM 2978 and Woodlands Parkway in Montgomery County, Texas. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident as an industrial accident involving a third-party contractor. Recovery efforts paused at 1:30 p. m. while crews awaited the safe shutdown of power.

Approximately 1,500 customers initially lost power, but service was restored by 2 p. m. CenterPoint Energy expressed condolences and highlighted the critical importance of safety when working near electric infrastructure. The company advised workers to remain at least 10 feet away from power lines and 35 feet from downed wires. This tragic incident underscores the risks associated with tree trimming and electrical work.

Local authorities may review safety protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
