The Woodlands Township Board approved a proposal for a 4. 6-mile shared-use pathway connecting Harper’s Landing to SH 242, I-45, and FM 1488 during its meeting on May 22, 2025. The Board issued several proclamations, including one honoring the founding members of The Woodlands Volunteer Fire Department, which began in 1973. This day was designated as The Woodlands Volunteer Fire Department Founding Firefighters Day, recognizing the dedication of early firefighters. The Board also celebrated The Woodlands High School World Guard, which became the first Texas high school to win the Winter Guard International Scholastic World Championship.

The proclamation highlighted the team's exceptional achievements in competitive color guard performance. Additionally, the Board recognized National Police Week, designating May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day to honor fallen officers. They proclaimed May as Bike The Woodlands Month, emphasizing the benefits of cycling for transportation and recreation. These actions reflect the Board's commitment to community service, safety, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
