On April 22, 2025, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office apprehended four suspects involved in a construction material theft ring, who allegedly stole $3,500 worth of materials from a residence in the Mavera neighborhood. The suspects were observed using two primary vehicles for transporting stolen goods, along with spotter vehicles that engaged in reckless driving to evade law enforcement. The Crime Reduction Unit's thorough investigation uncovered connections to several businesses in Harris County buying the stolen materials. During questioning, the suspects admitted to participating in various thefts of construction materials and appliances throughout Montgomery County. The investigation's success highlights the Sheriff’s Office's commitment to combating organized crime in the area.

As the case progresses, authorities may press further charges against the suspects. Montgomery County has seen an increase in construction material thefts, prompting law enforcement to enhance surveillance and patrol operations.
