Childrens Safe Harbor Pinwheel Art Installation in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month
On April 15, 2024, Children's Safe Harbor installed 2,245 pinwheels at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe, Texas, to symbolize the children affected by abuse and trauma. Each pinwheel represents a child impacted by sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect, human trafficking, or trauma, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and prevention. This annual event coincides with National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, bringing together various local organizations and law enforcement agencies. Attendees included members of the county’s child abuse multi-disciplinary team, the Conroe Police Department, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, reflecting a united front in addressing child safety. The installation serves as a powerful visual reminder of the ongoing fight against child abuse and the critical role of community support.
By participating in this event, local leaders and organizations aim to foster a safer environment for children. Photos from the installation can be viewed on the Constable Pct. 3 Constable’s Office’s Facebook page, encouraging further community engagement. This initiative underscores the importance of collective efforts in preventing child abuse and protecting the most vulnerable members of society.
