The Woodlands, TXLocal News

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle has taken a significant step to enhance emergency response in Montgomery County by introducing a new non-emergency dispatch number, 936-538-5900. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on dispatchers, allowing them to focus on critical 911 emergencies and law enforcement requests. Alongside this, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has established a dedicated receptionist center to address general inquiries, encouraging the public to call 936-760-5800 for non-emergency matters. “We are committed to ensuring that our dispatchers are available to respond swiftly to emergency calls and law enforcement needs,” Sheriff Doolittle stated. The new system will redirect residents who call dispatch for non-law enforcement reasons, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated.

Many general inquiries can also be resolved online or through the updated phone menu options. This proactive approach highlights the Sheriff's Office's dedication to improving public safety and ensuring efficient emergency services. Overall, the initiative is a testament to the community's commitment to a responsive and effective law enforcement system.
