Child Advocates of Montgomery County welcomes New Board Members, Names 2025-2026 Board Leadership

Child Advocates of Montgomery County has strengthened its Board of Directors by appointing seven new members committed to the welfare of vulnerable children and families. The new board members include professionals from various fields, such as Benny Austria, General Manager of Jared Jewelers, and Julie Barrett, Director at Texas Children’s Hospital. Catherine Miller, who has been a volunteer advocate and board member since 2021, was confirmed as board chair, succeeding Mark Freeman, who will continue as secretary. Miller highlighted the new board's potential to enhance the organization's impact within Montgomery County. The board also confirmed Brian Albert as vice chair and Jason Howze as treasurer for the upcoming year.

The organization expressed gratitude to departing members for their contributions, underscoring the importance of their leadership in the past. This expansion of leadership comes as Child Advocates aims to broaden its programs and outreach. By integrating diverse expertise, the board seeks to deepen its commitment to advocacy and community education.
