Light the World Giving Machines return to Hughes Landing on December 17

The Woodlands, TXLocal News

The Light the World Giving Machines will launch at Hughes Landing Band Shell in The Woodlands on December 17, inviting donations through January 3, 2026. This unique program allows visitors to purchase gifts for those in need, benefiting both local and global charities. In 2024, Texans donated over $1 million through these machines, with Houston contributing more than $250,000. Local charities supported include Target Hunger and Interfaith of The Woodlands, which aim to alleviate hunger and provide essential services. Each donation ensures that 100% of contributions reach those in need, as every penny goes directly to the selected charities.

The initiative, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is part of a global Christmas campaign promoting service and compassion. Elder Robert Ellis emphasized the importance of sharing the light of Christ during the holiday season.
