Holley as the new District Attorney of Montgomery County, succeeding Brett Ligon, who resigned after 17 years to run for the Texas Senate. The Change of Command Ceremony held on October 30 honored Ligon's significant contributions to the community. Ligon's leadership was recognized as pivotal in transforming the District Attorney’s Office into a model of professionalism and public trust. The ceremony featured various speakers, including an invocation by The Honorable Lincoln Goodwin and a blessing by Father Jon Beadle.

During the event, Holley took the oath of office alongside investigators and prosecutors. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office highlighted the importance of community partnerships in maintaining justice. Ligon expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his career. This transition marks a new chapter in leadership for the District Attorney’s Office, emphasizing continued dedication to public service.
