CenterPoint Energy activates emergency response team to respond to severe storms in Greater Houston area

CenterPoint Energy activated its emergency response team in anticipation of severe weather in the Greater Houston area. Forecasts predict thunderstorms, high winds, and potential localized flooding. The company has pre-positioned around 1,300 workers and contractors across 12 service centers to facilitate quick service restoration. Their storm preparedness includes large repair crews for major restoration, rapid response teams for immediate repairs, and specialized underground crews. Additionally, vegetation management teams will clear fallen trees that could obstruct restoration efforts.

Vice President Nathan Brownell emphasized the importance of customer preparedness, urging them to sign up for Power Alert Service® and track outages via the new Outage Tracker. Customers can find storm safety tips on the CenterPoint Energy website and Ready. gov. Staying informed and proactive is essential as weather conditions evolve.
