The Woodlands Community mourns the loss of Dosey Doe owner

Steve Said, the owner of Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on September 28 at the age of 72, leading the family to request privacy as they mourn. Despite this loss, Dosey Doe will continue operations at other locations, including The Big Barn and Dosey Doe Coffee. The community is encouraged to participate in the Day of Caring food drive organized by Interfaith of The Woodlands on October 23, 2025, to support those facing food insecurity. Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith, highlighted the organization's mission of neighbors helping neighbors. The closure of Dosey Doe Breakfast and BBQ, which opened on March 18, 2017, marks a significant change for the local dining scene.

The restaurant had been a beloved establishment in the area, contributing to community events. Interfaith's Food Pantry serves thousands each month, and donations from the Day of Caring will help sustain its efforts. Community involvement is crucial during the holiday season, ensuring families have food on their tables.
