Montgomery County Food Bank and Oxy partner to expand Hunger Relief with New Food Bank Truck

Montgomery County Food Bank partnered with Oxy to enhance its hunger relief efforts with the acquisition of a new 36’ semi truck. This addition will significantly expand the Food Bank's outreach and delivery capabilities, allowing it to serve more meals to families, children, and seniors experiencing food insecurity. Samantha Lombardo, Oxy's Director of Community Relations, highlighted the partnership's mission to reach more individuals in need. On September 22nd, over 40 Oxy employees volunteered by sorting and packing meals during Hunger Action Month. Kristine Marlow, President & CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank, expressed gratitude for Oxy's investment, noting that the truck symbolizes efficiency and compassion.

Last year, the Food Bank served nearly 9 million meals, demonstrating the ongoing need for such initiatives. The project is part of the “Fueling Food for All” initiative, which aims to modernize the Food Bank's fleet. Through this partnership, Oxy reinforces its commitment to making a lasting impact on the community.
