Assistance League of Montgomery County surpasses 2 million in scholarships awarded

The Assistance League of Montgomery County celebrated awarding over $2 million in scholarships since 2006 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 23. The event featured attendees such as volunteers, Advisory Council members, and local officials, including Montgomery County Commissioner Robert C. Walker, who issued a proclamation recognizing the achievement. The organization’s scholarship program provides six types of financial assistance to Montgomery County residents, targeting high school seniors, adult learners, and those seeking career certifications. A special focus is given to Elizabeth McCreight Memorial Scholarships for women pursuing degrees in STEM fields.

Tally Jo Stout, CTE Director at Conroe ISD, stated, “Every Scholarship you award is more than financial assistance. It’s a vote of confidence in a young person’s potential. ” The Assistance League runs a thrift shop that funds its seven community programs, aiding local residents.
