Shootout Hunger Sporting Clays Tournament by Montgomery County Food Bank funds more than 670,000 meals for neighbors in need

The 13th annual Shootout Hunger Sporting Clays Tournament organized by Montgomery County Food Bank raised funds for over 670,000 meals on September 12, 2025. Hosted at Blackwood Sporting Co. in Conroe, the event saw participation from more than 180 shooters and received support from sponsors like Cowboy Kia and H-E-B. Kristine Marlow, President & CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the community's efforts in combating hunger, emphasizing the shared purpose of compassion and strength. The tournament not only highlighted the fight against hunger but also fostered camaraderie among participants, who enjoyed a barbeque lunch and silent auction items.

Award winners included Jeff Cannon as Top Male Shooter and Katie Heckt as Top Female Shooter, while the 1st Place Team was a tie between Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough and Prosperity Bank. The Food Bank aims to build on this momentum with its Holiday Helpings Food & Funds Drive, encouraging local involvement to support families in need during the holiday season.
