The John Cooper School Students Receive National Recognition

The John Cooper School proudly recognized 17 students as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students ranked in the top 50,000 out of over 1. 5 million who took the 2024 PSAT/NMSQT. Laura Schroder, the Director of College Counseling, emphasized their intellectual curiosity and community commitment. The school, dedicated to providing a rigorous education within a caring environment, aims to cultivate critical thinkers and responsible citizens.

Although these Commended Students will not advance in the National Merit competition, their recognition underscores their academic promise. Approximately 34,000 students nationwide received similar commendations this year. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation highlighted the importance of acknowledging these students to enhance educational excellence. This recognition serves to expand their opportunities and encourage their ongoing academic pursuits.
