Conroe ISD Board of Trustees names Dr. David Vinson as Superintendent of Schools

The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees appointed Dr. David Vinson as Superintendent of Schools on September 18, emphasizing his alignment with the district's goals for student success. Board President Misty Odenweller highlighted Vinson's leadership qualities and commitment to educational excellence. Previously, Vinson led Wylie ISD, where he earned an "A" rating from the Texas Education Agency and expanded dual-credit enrollment by 600%. He successfully launched the Wylie Way character education framework and oversaw the timely delivery of $700 million in bond programs.

In his new position, he expressed enthusiasm for serving the Conroe community and enhancing student outcomes. Vinson's educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and a Ph. D. in Character Education. He has also played a significant role in state-level educational reforms, including the passage of House Bill 6.

His family includes two children pursuing higher education, reflecting his commitment to education.
