Ride The Woodlands Express for Free on Fridays in September

The Woodlands, TXLocal News

The Woodlands Township announces Free Fare Fridays for The Woodlands Express throughout September 2025, inviting residents to ride for free every Friday. This initiative aims to promote public transit usage among both daily commuters and first-time riders. Passengers can board at three Park and Ride locations, including Research Forest, Sterling Ridge, and Sawdust. Children under 12 must ride with an adult, and seating operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The program, backed by the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Commute Solutions Program, encourages residents to save money and avoid traffic congestion.

Riders are urged to share their experiences using the hashtag #TryTownshipTransit. For more information on routes and schedules, residents can visit the township's website. This initiative aligns with the goals of Commute Solutions Month, promoting sustainable transportation options.
