Conroe Motorcycle Officer struck by pickup and transported to hospital

On August 28, 2025, at around 12:30 p. m. , Officer J. Dugas of the Conroe Police Department was struck by a white Ford F-150 while responding to a fatal crash in the 500 block of N. IH 45.

While traveling with emergency lights and sirens activated, his motorcycle collided with another vehicle after the impact. Officer Dugas, despite his injuries, successfully called for assistance, prompting rapid response from local police, fire, and EMS. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. The other drivers involved remained at the scene and rendered aid. The incident is currently under investigation, and the identities of the other involved drivers have not been disclosed.

The Conroe Police Department expressed gratitude for Officer Dugas' survival and urged the community to keep him and his family in their thoughts. Traffic incidents involving emergency responders highlight the risks faced by law enforcement officers while performing their duties.
