Triplets thrive in Level III NICU at St. Lukes Health-The Woodlands Hospital

The Woodlands, TXLocal News

Tristyn Descisciolo and her husband, Michael, celebrated the arrival of triplets on February 2, 2024, at St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands Hospital, marking a rare event for the facility. After discovering the unexpected news during an ultrasound, the couple received comprehensive support from the Maternal Fetal Medicine team due to the high-risk nature of their pregnancy. Tristyn, who is petite, faced challenges such as gestational diabetes, which was effectively managed. The triplets—Elle, Sage, and Dani—were born at 32 weeks, necessitating specialized care in the hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Each infant was evaluated by dedicated medical teams immediately after birth. After 28 days in the NICU, Elle and Dani went home, while Sage required 52 days of treatment for reflux. The family's experience has fostered ongoing connections with the NICU staff, who fondly recall them as “the triplet family. ” This event highlights the importance of specialized care in managing high-risk pregnancies and the remarkable support systems available for families in similar situations.
