Local Fire Departments respond and control Spring house fire after lightning strike

On August 15, The Woodlands Fire Department and Spring Fire Department responded to a house fire in northwest Harris County after a lightning strike. Firefighters arrived at 1:00 PM and took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control, which had spread throughout the attic. By 1:11 PM, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident. The fire was declared extinguished at 2:04 PM, with Spring Firefighters remaining on the scene to assist. The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire.

Lightning strikes can lead to significant property damage and pose serious risks to life, making timely responses crucial. Local authorities encourage residents to review safety protocols during thunderstorms to mitigate risks. This incident underscores the importance of community preparedness in emergency situations.
