Township lifeguards earn top marks at state competition

The Woodlands Township Aquatics Division's lifeguard teams earned second place at the Gulf Coast Guard Games on July 14 in Mont Belvieu. The competition evaluated lifeguards' abilities in various emergency scenarios, including a cardiac incident requiring CPR and multiple emergencies in a wave pool. Each challenge showcased their quick responses and teamwork, leading to a commendable second-place finish in all scenarios. As a result, the teams secured a spot in the Texas State Lifeguard Competition on August 4, 2025. Township Aquatics Superintendent Cynthia Roberts expressed pride in the lifeguards' consistent performance and commitment to safety.

This achievement highlights the excellence of The Woodlands Township Aquatics program. Since 2019, Township lifeguards have excelled at the regional level six times, emphasizing their dedication to lifesaving skills. The competition not only tests their abilities but also prepares them for future challenges in water safety.
