Montgomery County Law Enforcement successfully curbs DWI Incidents over July 4th Weekend

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office successfully led a DWI Task Force over the July 4th weekend, significantly enhancing road safety in the region. This coordinated initiative, involving 41 officers, resulted in 389 traffic stops, with law enforcement issuing 88 citations and arresting 52 individuals on DWI-related charges. Remarkably, there were no fatal crashes in Montgomery County during this holiday weekend, showcasing the program's effectiveness. Sheriff Doolittle highlighted the importance of teamwork among various agencies, extending gratitude to the District Attorney’s Office for their support. In addition to DWI arrests, officers made 19 arrests for other offenses, including Public Intoxication and Weapons Charges.

Three weapons were seized, reflecting a commitment to public safety and accountability. The initiative demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing dangerous driving during a high-traffic holiday period. Overall, local law enforcement aims to maintain this momentum in future safety initiatives.
