Red Cross awards Township Aquatics

The Woodlands Township Aquatics Team has earned accolades from the American Red Cross as a Top Training Provider and Gold Level Learn-to-Swim Provider for 2024. With more than 40 certified instructors, the program taught over 1,000 swim lessons across 10 facilities, reaching over 500 individuals this fiscal year. Aquatics Superintendent Cynthia Roberts highlighted the program's commitment to instilling confidence and safety in swimmers of all ages. The Gold Level award signifies the program's extensive community outreach, having received this recognition since 2020. Each year, about 350 lifeguards receive certifications through American Red Cross courses, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.

The Township operates 14 swimming pools, including one in each village, and offers various recreational opportunities. These facilities aim to create safe environments for residents to enjoy aquatic activities. Information about pool services can be found on the Township's website.
