Tacoma, WALocal News

Grit City Greens, a cherished Tacoma café specializing in healthy cuisine, will close permanently on December 13, 2024, due to escalating operational costs that have made the business unsustainable. Owners Sean Guay and Corie Cameron have been fulfilling orders through the busy Thanksgiving season, expressing sadness over the end of what they described as a 'fun 8-year ride. ' The café, which started as Crisp Meals in 2016 and evolved into a brick-and-mortar establishment, received significant support during the pandemic when they delivered thousands of meals to first responders. Community members fondly recalled the café's hearty salads and customizable dishes, highlighting its impact on local dining. The owners cited rising costs and unsatisfactory landlord-tenant relationships as critical factors in their closure decision.

They expressed gratitude for their loyal customer base and mentioned that while Cameron has no specific plans, she hopes to remain in the foodservice industry. The couple looks forward to spending quality time with their four children during the holidays.
