City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall will close on Juneteenth, June 19, as the city honors the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. In addition to City Hall, the Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches will be closed. On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payments, but drivers must still adhere to time limits. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will continue as scheduled, and the Waste-to-Energy facility will remain operational. Spokane City Council will convene on June 23 for a 3:30 p.

m. agenda review and a 6 p. m. legislative meeting, with broadcasts available on CityCable 5 and online. Spokane 311 will offer customer service via phone or online on June 19.

Riverfront Park attractions, such as the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will be open for visitors, providing opportunities for community engagement. For a list of Juneteenth community events, residents can refer to the city’s blog.
