City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall and various municipal services will close on June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Closures include Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all branches of the Spokane Public Library. On-street parking meters will not require payments, but all parking regulations, including time limits, will still apply. Essential services like garbage, recycling, and food waste collection will proceed as scheduled, while the Waste-to-Energy facility and Spokane County transfer stations will remain open. Spokane City Council is set to convene on June 23, with meetings available to the public via CityCable 5 and online streaming.
