Responding crews arrived at the 2900 block of West Thorpe Road, discovering a grass and brush fire burning under an acre. Firefighters from the Spokane Fire Department, along with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and Spokane County Fire District 10, acted swiftly to control the fire.

They successfully contained the blaze and began mopping up hot spots within an hour of their arrival. The fire's cause remains under investigation and is deemed suspicious, prompting officials to seek information about a dark-colored Ford Ranger seen leaving the scene.
