City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall and various municipal services will close on Juneteenth, June 19, to observe the federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Spokane Municipal Court and all Spokane Public Library branches will also be shuttered. Parking meters and kiosks will not require payments, but regulations regarding time limits will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste services will proceed as scheduled, ensuring continuity of essential services for residents. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open.

City golf courses will operate normally, and Spokane 311 will provide customer service support. Spokane City Council is set to meet on June 23, with a legislative meeting planned for 6 p. m. Community members can find details on upcoming Juneteenth events through the city’s blog.
