Spokane Police Department (SPD) closely monitored a protest following the June 14, 2025, Pride Parade, initially supporting the demonstrators. Officers engaged in ongoing dialogue with protest organizers to manage safety concerns and maintain order. However, as the crowd grew, SPD issued multiple warnings for demonstrators to remain in designated areas. By 8:44 p. m.

, after continued obstruction of roadways, dispersal orders were issued, leading to 11 arrests for failure to disperse. One individual also faced charges of malicious mischief for vandalizing city property. SPD clarified that there was no curfew that night and that they did not order evacuations at the nearby mall. Matthew Danielson, Executive Director of Spokane Pride, praised the collaboration with SPD, while Chief Kevin Hall reiterated the department’s dedication to balancing the right to protest with community safety. SPD will review its actions to ensure alignment with their values of professionalism and respect for constitutional rights.
