City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane City Hall will close on Juneteenth, June 19, to honor the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches will also close for the observance. On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment, but time limits will still apply to ensure compliance. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will proceed as usual, providing continuity for residents. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open, alongside city golf courses, offering recreational options.

Spokane City Council plans to convene on June 23 for an agenda review and legislative meeting. The Waste-to-Energy facility and Spokane County’s transfer stations will operate normally, ensuring waste management services continue uninterrupted.
