City Closures Planned for Juneteenth
Spokane City Hall will close on Juneteenth, June 19, in observance of the federal holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Alongside City Hall, Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all public library branches will also close for the day. In contrast, essential services such as garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will continue as scheduled. Spokane 311 will be available for customer service inquiries, ensuring residents can access necessary support. On-street parking will be free on this holiday, but all parking rules, including time limits, will still apply.
Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open, as will city golf courses. The Spokane City Council is set to convene on June 23 for a 3:30 p. m. agenda review and a 6 p. m.
legislative meeting. The city encourages residents to participate in community events planned for Juneteenth.
