Spokane Police Department Statement on June 14 No Kings Demonstration Following Pride Parade

Spokane, WALocal News

On June 14, 2025, Spokane Police Department (SPD) monitored a peaceful protest that followed the Pride Parade, which began at Riverfront Park and grew to thousands in the downtown area. SPD maintained open communication with protest organizers, which contributed to the event's initial success. However, as the evening progressed, the crowd diminished, and SPD issued multiple warnings for demonstrators to clear the roadways. When some protesters refused to comply, SPD issued dispersal orders, resulting in 11 arrests for failure to disperse. Officers used non-lethal methods, including inert smoke and pepper balls, to manage the situation.

Chief Kevin Hall reaffirmed the department's commitment to protecting the right to protest while ensuring safety. Spokane Pride organizers highlighted their collaboration with the city and police to create a safe environment for the event. Despite rumors, SPD confirmed no curfew or mall evacuations took place during the protest.
