City Closures Planned for Juneteenth
Spokane City Hall will close on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Along with City Hall, Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, library branches, and the Development Services Center will also close for the holiday. While on-street parking meters will not require payment, motorists must still follow time limits and other parking regulations. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will operate as scheduled, ensuring no disruption in waste management. Spokane City Council's next meeting is set for June 23, featuring an agenda review at 3:30 p.
m. and a legislative meeting at 6 p. m. Spokane 311 will be available for customer inquiries on Juneteenth. Attractions at Riverfront Park, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open.
