City Closures Planned for Juneteenth
Spokane City Hall will close on Juneteenth, June 19, in observance of the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Other closures include Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches. On-street parking will be free, but all parking rules, including time limits, will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will continue as per usual, and the Waste-to-Energy facility will remain operational. Spokane City Council is scheduled to meet on June 23 for an agenda review at 3:30 p.
m. and a legislative meeting at 6 p. m. Spokane 311 employees will assist with customer service inquiries on June 19. Additionally, Riverfront Park attractions and city golf courses will operate normally on Juneteenth.
