City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall and several municipal services will close on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, a holiday recognized federally to honor the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Closure extends to Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches. Although on-street parking will be free, all other parking regulations, including time limits, will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will proceed as scheduled, ensuring that residents’ waste management needs are met. Spokane City Council plans to meet on June 23, with an agenda review at 3:30 p.

m. and a legislative meeting at 6 p. m. , which will be broadcast live on CityCable 5 and streamed online. Spokane 311 will maintain phone and online services for customer inquiries on Juneteenth.
