City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall will close on June 19 to honor Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. The Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches will also be closed on that day. In contrast, garbage, recycling, and food waste services will operate as usual, ensuring residents' waste management needs are met. On-street parking meters will not require payment, but all time limits will still apply to vehicles. The Spokane City Council plans to meet on June 23, with an agenda review at 3:30 p.

m. and a legislative meeting at 6 p. m. Spokane 311 employees will assist residents with inquiries on Juneteenth. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open.
