City Provides Annual Report on Drinking Water Quality

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's 2024 drinking water quality report confirms full compliance with state and federal standards, with low-level PFAS detections at three well locations. The City’s average for one well is just below the EPA's revised limit of four parts per trillion. To enhance safety, the City has updated its testing and monitoring procedures for PFAS. Marlene Feist, Director of Public Works, highlighted the importance of delivering safe drinking water, especially as environmental contaminants increase. The City also joined a lawsuit against PFAS manufacturers and supports investigations into contamination sources.

Community members can access the water quality report online or request a mailed copy. Additionally, Spokane promotes water conservation through its Water Wise program, including an "odd/even" watering schedule. The City offers rebates for water-efficient upgrades to assist customers in reducing water use.
