Suspects in Custody, Two Firearms Recovered, After Early Morning Drive-by Shooting

Spokane Police arrested two suspects early this morning following a drive-by shooting in northeast Spokane that damaged a vehicle. The incident occurred around 5:30 a. m. on May 31, 2025, when Zachary Gring, 32, allegedly fired shots at a house and car related to a personal relationship. Gring had previously eluded police the day before, leading to a warrant for his arrest.

Officers apprehended both Gring and Allie Alderson, 26, who fled from the suspect vehicle. Gring faces multiple charges, including two counts of drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm, while Alderson faces charges related to the shooting and a previous riot charge. Surveillance footage from the initial incident helped officers identify the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing, with further charges being referred to the prosecutor's office. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about gun violence and public safety in Spokane.
