Suspects in Custody, Two Firearms Recovered, After Early Morning Drive-by Shooting

Spokane police arrested two suspects following a drive-by shooting in northeast Spokane early this morning. The incident, which occurred around 5:30 a. m. on May 31, 2025, damaged a vehicle but resulted in no injuries. Officers identified Zachary Gring as the shooter, linking him to a prior incident where he fled from police.

Gring shot at a house and car belonging to a person he was involved with. During the investigation, police received information about the suspects and arrested a female accomplice, Allie Alderson, who faces multiple charges, including drive-by shooting. Gring was booked on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of drive-by shooting. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, thanks in part to a citizen report. The investigation remains active, with further charges being considered by the prosecutor's office.
