Newport HwyUS 2 Utility Repair June 5 6

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Water Department crews will restrict N. Newport Highway/US 2 to one lane in each direction starting at 9 p. m. on June 5 for essential underground water main repairs. The work is scheduled to continue overnight and is expected to be completed by midday on June 6.

During this period, southbound traffic will experience significant delays, particularly between 6 a. m. and 10 a. m. on June 6, prompting officials to advise drivers to consider alternative routes via N.

Division/US 395 or N. Nevada St. Northbound traffic will also be reduced to one lane in the N. 9000 block of N. Newport Hwy/US 2.

Drivers should slow down and remain alert while navigating the area. This repair is critical for maintaining the integrity of Spokane's water supply and ensuring continued service for residents. The city urges all drivers to plan their routes in advance to minimize disruptions.
